Oil Land For Grabs Showdown In Texas
In a border dispute between Texas and Louisiana, a 200 mile Sabine River boundary dispute reaches a final hearing today before U S District Judge Robert Van Pelt. Louisiana claims the entire river. Texas argues the boundary is midriver. Oil beneath the river and Pleasure Island in Port Arthur are involved. Louisiana names Atty. Gen. Jack Gremillion and ex Governor Sam Jones. Texas counters with Atty. Gen. Crawford Martin and ex Governor Price Daniel. The Supreme Court will rule on the high court hearing and Van Pelt's recommendation.
