Payback To Meese Payback To Meese
A three judge appellate court panel ordered the government to reimburse Attorney General Edwin Meese IT for 472,190 of the more than 720,000 in his legal expenses defending himself as Reagan’s counselor. The ruling, published today, cites the Ethics in Government Act provisions for reimbursing officials cleared of wrongdoing. The text blends numerous Kansas filings and a city bond ordinance, but the focal item concerns Meese’s reimbursements.
