Rules Shooting Was Self Defense in Great Bend
Great Bend Kansas coroner's jury ruled Patrolman Clyde Denney acted in self defense when he shot Richard R. Zamarippa during a suspected traffic violation arrest. Witnesses testified Zamarippa lunged with a butcher knife as Denney ordered him to drop the weapon. Denney fired two warning shots before the fatal shot to the stomach.

Samuel Saltzman aged 76 died at his Greeley home. Survived by two daughters Alice Comstock and Ruth Wright and three sons Paul Peter and Roscoe. Funeral arrangements pending. Funeral services held today for Lucy Rues 74 widow of Mike Rues of Greeley. She leaves five daughters Theresa Rommelgang er Rose Lanzrath Sister Mary Dominica Mary Hutton Miller and Lena Jeffery and son George. Services were at St. John’s Catholic church. Rev Curt Lanzrath of Cincinnati led. The gorilla and chimpanzee are among the few mammals which cannot swim.
