River Bandits win first program game in debut series
Ottawa River Bandits open the Mid Plains League season with a 16-15 win over Sabetha Lobos in their inaugural game. Four RBIs apiece from Trenton Ferguson and Dalton Rapkin fueled the attack, while Logan Whelan pitched five innings. Ottawa drops the series 1-2 and plans home games at OU Alumni Park before a three-game set with the Topeka Golden Giants.

Grinder to Lead OU Braves Baseball Program
Ottawa University appoints Gabe Grinder as the new head baseball coach replacing Cory Blaine. Grinder comes from Oklahoma Wesleyan University where he served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator and helped the Eagles reach the 2017 NAIA World Series while producing high ERA and strikeout totals. He has held multiple coaching roles across West Virginia Wesleyan, Morningside, Southeastern, and Johnson University Florida, amassing numerous All-GPAC and NAIA record achievements. He expressed gratitude to the OU committee and vowed to build a standard of excellence in classroom, field, and community.
