AP report notes major U.S. airlines pressed for a new two percent fare increase to start in July, approved by the CAB, while seven of the top ten carriers joined the filing amid a 12 to 13 percent May traffic rise. Delta National Northwest remained aloof. CAB refunds target May passengers on certain tickets. France and Britain agree not to expand Concorde building, with only nine of 16 planned ordered.
Kansas legislators and staff have spent at least 37,000 state funds on trips billed as legislative business to cities such as Portland Phoenix Washington and Philadelphia. The largest single expense was 15,000 for the National Conference of State Legislatures meeting in Philadelphia.
