Ottawa anglers haul two large catfish by Herald office
Tyler Welsh and Chase Lebahn, both of Ottawa, caught a 60 pound flathead and a 40 pound blue catfish on a Marais des Cygnes River boat. They used perch as bait and fought the fish near The Herald office at 104 S. Cedar St. The men, both 22, said the flathead nearly knocked them over while the blue catfish followed. Kansas record weights are 123 pounds for the flathead and 102.8 pounds for the blue catfish.
