Stone church closure and marker incident linked to Ottawa history
Franklin County researchers note Center Chapel Methodist merged with New Hope Methodist possibly due to declining membership and wall cracks in 1921 while transportation improvements drew worshippers to larger Ottawa churches. A related street marker at 15th and Olive was struck by a vehicle and later reset, weighing about 200 pounds.
