Weigand Tops GOP spending in Kansas governor race
Nes tor Weigand Jr. led in spending among Republican candidates last week, surpassing Gov. Mike Hayden, while former Gov. John Carlin raised the most money in the Democratic contest. Weigand, a Wichita realtor, spent nearly all funds from Jan 1 to last Thursday and contributed over $338,328 of personal money. Hayden's campaign remained cash rich, raising more from individuals even as it spent less.
