First Americans linked to Jomon Ainu Group, study says
Researchers analyzed nearly 10 000 skulls from around the world and find the earliest settlers in the Americas likely descended from a Jomon Ainu group in Japan. They crossed a Bering land bridge about 15 000 years ago, with later migration adding Eskimo and Navajo lineages.
