NASA aims new Mars lander with air bag bounce in 2003
NASA announced a 2003 launch for a larger, longer lived Mars lander and a rover to search for water and climate history. The Delta 2 launched craft will bounce on impact using air bags, travel about 110 yards per Martian day, and relay color infrared images after a seven month journey.
