Engines Located on Ocean Floor In TWA 800 Probe
AP reports two engines from the TWA Flight 800 disaster were found on the sea floor aiding inquiry. NTSB Vice Chairman Robert Francis offered no details on engine condition or recovery timing as 138 bodies had been found. Divers recovered the cockpit voice data recorder and flight data recorder, which captured a normal takeoff then a sudden abnormal sound before silence. A source said bomb-related causes are becoming more likely, reducing mechanical failure odds to 5 or 10 percent.

Beef prices begin to rise after decline
ASHINGTON AP The decline in retail beef prices may be over thanks to high grain costs that have prompted ranchers to reduce their herds. USDA says June prices for Choice beef appear stabilizing and should rise through early 1997, aligning with higher pork prices.
