Porter Wagoner A Life In Country Music Stardom
Porter Wagoner rose from a Missouri grocery store singer to a national country star. His breakthrough began with a store radio spot, then KWTO in Springfield and the Ozark Jubilee directed by Red Foley. Signed by RCA in 1955 his hit A Satisfied Mind topped charts, leading to the Grand Ole Opry invite in 1957 and a long TV run. His partnership with Dolly Parton yielded Grammys and CMA Duo of the Year, while he later explored studio producing and crossing genres before returning to full-time entertaining in 1981.
