In Paola Sunday night Paola beat Osawatomie 1-0 to advance to face Lawrence at 6 p.m. Garnett upset defending champion Olathe 7-3 to set up Garnett versus Ottawa at 8 p.m. in the District I tournament. Two games nightly through Tuesday then one daily until finals July 30 or Sunday if needed.

Kansas City area sailors dominated the Lake Pomona Regatta with about 40 entries in two races on a seven mile morning course and a 10 mile afternoon race. The Flying Dutchman class withdrew after a protest and competition was affected by scheduling with Lake Shawnee.
