Lee Trevino Exit Spurs Pro Tour Hypocrisy Debate
Veteran golfer Bob Rosburg condemned tour rules as too lax and said players fake scores or injuries to avoid a faulty end to a tournament. The controversy arose after Trevino shot 75 in round two, missed the Westchester Classic cut by one, and withdrew amid mystery surrounding a triple bogey eight on the final hole. Commissioner Dey defended the rules as legitimate, noting withdrawals require sponsor consent or a doctor’s certificate.
