Publishers Debate Lack Of Political Advertising In Kansas
Kansas publishers rail against political advertising tactics in this campaign season. They condemn the Kansas Press Association for pressuring candidates to buy ad space or risk reduced news coverage, arguing ads should not influence editorial decisions. The issue sparks anger among editors, with comments from publishers across Topeka, Hutchinson, Hays, Ottawa, and Parsons, who warn that news will be treated as for sale if the policy persists.
