Amish cope with record heat without air conditioning
In Yoder Kansas, Old Order Amish farmers Kenneth and Katie Keim endure 115 degree heat without electricity or fans. They endure by staying indoors with curtains closed, drinking water, and sleeping outside on a bed sheet when needed. Some Amish seek the cool of public spaces while others stay stoic, planning evening baths and chores at Whispering Pine School lacking air conditioning.
