Hijacking Ends Quickly After Passengers Freed
A United Airlines 727 with 126 aboard from Denver to Omaha was hijacked by a man who claimed a bomb but was unarmed. FBI agents boarded at Epley Field and subdued the hijacker at 4:30 p.m. CDT after the passengers and crew were released unharmed. The flight originated in Boise and landed in Omaha with the hijacker remaining aboard briefly before arrest.

Somoza's Son Leaves Washburn University Topeka
The 26-year-old son of deposed Nicaraguan president Anastasio Somoza left Washburn University in Topeka to join his family in Miami, with officials citing privacy laws. A secondary source said he left Topeka last spring and may not have returned after accompanying his father to Miami for Easter.
