Main Street group presses ahead in Ottawa with lively plans
The Ottawa Main Street Association under director Mary Allison Haynie shows initiative with artful tree sculptures on the courthouse grounds by George Washburn and Tony Jones, a new First Ladies of Main sculpture near the river levee, and events from progressive dinners to free music. The group runs Incentives Without Walls loans to help downtown property owners, recruits merchants, and eyes National Historic District status amid turnover and renewed activity.
