Protesters starve for food aid at Kansas City encampment
Fasters in Kansas City, led by Mitch Snyder of the Community for Creative Non-Violence, endure two weeks without solid food to pressure the Reagan administration to expand surplus food distributions. About 20 are on broth or juice, four drink only water, with more supporters expected to join a Liberty Memorial hillside tent city. The protest targets federal food-waste amid millions of pounds of stored surplus.
