Stranger in Fiction: Check via Iraq Route to Pascagoula Gas

In Pascagoula Mississippi a woman’s $49.36 natural gas bill mailed in April to the city clerk’s office arrived in May after traveling through Iraq. An Army soldier identified as Spc Fifield stamped an apology on the back saying the delay was due to a computer error during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The envelope, postmarked April 4, was eventually sent back on May 11. The bill had been sent by R D Hawkins of Gautier. Pascagoula serves about 1,000 Gautier natural gas customers.
