Nice Try Carter Sermon Promises Curb Inflation Yet Raises Questions
The Ottawa Herald editorial critiques President Carter's Sunday address as more political speech than sermon. It accuses him of promising more spending and new taxes, proposing an Energy Security Corporation, and urging buy in energy bonds, while questioning trust and timing. The piece notes public faith in government has waned and finds little substantial basis to renew confidence in his leadership.
