Rose Struggles With Pressure After 29 Game Hitting Streak

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Pete Rose says the pressure from his 29 game hitting streak feels heavier than when he reached the 3000 hit milestone earlier. He extended the streak with a seventh inning double versus the Mets, tying Cap Anson for 10th on the all time list and surpassing Red Schoendienst in consecutive games with at least one hit. Rose downplays the streak, stressing team wins as most important, and notes how an early Reds lead changed his approach as he battles a knee bruise and focuses on offensive team momentum.
