Honeywell to close Lawrence plant move most workers to Olathe
Honeywell International will shut the Lawrence avionics plant and transfer about 95 percent of its 189 workers to a larger Olathe facility to cut overhead and use excess space. The Lawrence plant made collision-avoidance systems for aircraft, while the Olathe plant makes similar products for aviation. Remaining workers will be laid off.

Guard works to finish Lewis and Clark trail
ATCHISON AP Once a Kansas National Guard company finishes its work walkers and bikers will follow footsteps of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark near this Kansas town almost 200 years ago. The troops from the 891st Engineer Battalion are finishing a 10mile Lewis and Clark Hiking and Biking Trail before a bicentennial voyage celebration next July. Project chairman Ladd Seaberg said it will be one of 15 major events in the country here in Atchison.

Iraq Struck by Explosions as Coalition Faces Stabilization
