Exotic Beasts Displayed At New Garnett Venture
Gerald and Ginny Miller opened Deer Haven an exotic animal farm four miles south of Garnett on US 59. About 50 head of deer antelope and elk plus 17 peacocks and other animals are viewable Sunday afternoons for a fee with pony rides a petting zoo and picnic area. The 14 acre site houses Elmer the elk and a breeding herd including African pygmy goats Black Buck antelope and four deer species. The Millers plan educational visits for groups with fees of 350 for adults and 250 for children 3-12, with group rates available.
