FAA probes Delta training after string of near misses
FAA will conduct an across the board inspection of Delta Air Lines training programs focusing on cockpit coordination navigation and procedures after a two week span that included a London to Cincinnati flight straying off course by six miles and nearly colliding with a Continental 747 over the North Atlantic. Additional incidents involved a Los Angeles takeoff mishap with engine fuel cuts a wrong landing in Kentucky and a misrouted approach at Logan Airport. Delta says officials are mystified by the series of events.
