Richmond Faces Ballot Box Decision on Quarter-Cent Sales Tax
Richmond will place a one-quarter-cent sales tax on the November ballot for residents to decide. Mayor Bill Wood says funds would go to general city needs and could help with fairs and out of town visitors. The council also sets a July budget hearing at the Franklin County Courthouse and discusses a quarterly countywide summit with districts and cities. The fall festival preparations continue and zoning books will be reviewed at the August 10 City Hall meeting.
