Local aviation firm aids feds in San Diego export probe
Dodson International in Rantoul assisted federal investigators as Immigration and Customs Enforcement traced airplane parts sold to Secure Global Logistics of San Diego in July 2006. Agents conducted a several hour on site review with sheriff Craig Davis noting a standby officer was present. Only one sale occurred and no items were removed. The no trade list targets exports to North Korea, Cuba and Iran.

Franklin County renames frontage road for U S 59 project
Franklin County Commissioners name the new frontage road Missouri Drive to serve the U S 59 expressway between Stafford and Shawnee while delaying the renaming of U S 59 itself. The move supports building permits and 911 addressing, avoiding Eisenhower Road names already in use, and departs from policy until the expressway becomes county road. The plan also notes a mile upgrade of Missouri Road nearby and prior plans to rename U S 59 as Old Highway 59.
