Snake and bird cause Las Cruces power outage

A bull snake dropped on a power line by a bird blacked out about 2000 customers in Las Cruces, New Mexico. El Paso Electric Co. spokeswoman Teresa Souza confirmed the unusual cause and noted she has never heard of such an event. Power was restored in less than an hour.
