Vernon Stewart named Region 3 Outstanding Young Cooperator
Vernon Stewart of Vernon Stewart, Ottawa RFC 3, was chosen Region 3 Outstanding Young Cooperator. He will compete in Kansas City April 16 against other regional winners. the division winner advances to the National Young Cooperator contest with expenses paid. Stewart farms with his brother Bob and father Lewis on 500 acres, milking 130 Holsteins, and plans to reduce to about 100 cows while diversifying into beef and cash crops. He and Lois have three children involved in 4-H and he serves on the Franklin County DHIA board.
