Tropicana 400 at Chicagoland Announces Winston Cup Race

The Tropicana 400 runs 287 laps over 400.5 miles at Chicagoland Speedway this Sunday at 1 30 p m CDT. Defending champion is Kevin Harvick with the current race record 121 200 mph set July 15 2001 and qualifying record 183 77 mph by Todd Bodine on July 13 2001. The track’s curved backstretch gives drivers a constant leftward feel.

Busch Series Tropicana Twister 300 Preview Chicago Return

The Busch Series returns to Chicago for its second year of racing at the 1.5 mile tri oval. Defending champion Jimmie Johnson claimed last year’s win as Ryan Newman set a qualifying speed record at 181.886 mph. Johnson holds the 2001 Busch race mark at 119.489 mph.

Waltrip finally wins Pepsi 400 at Daytona in top NASCAR race

Michael Waltrip of Dale Earnhardt Inc. dominated the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway in the No. 15 Chevrolet, then narrowly held off Dale Earnhardt Jr. as Ryan Newman crashed, leading to a race ended under caution. Fans on the backstretch protested with cushions and cans after the finish.
