All-Star game loses star power to injuries in Atlanta

Lima ends skid with 9-6 Astros win over Royals

Jose Lima earned his first win since early April breaking a 13 game skid as the Astros beat Kansas City 9-6. Lance Berkman drove in four with two homers while Octavio Dotel earned a five out save. Lima dedicated the second half of the season to a drowned friend's grandson, crediting Marichal for advice that helped him regain focus.

Unknown Allenby wins Western Open

Robert Allenby edged Nick Price in a playoff on the first hole at the Western Open in LeMont Illinois to claim his second PGA Tour title after a clutch par putt. Irwin Remembered as Stewart Wins New England 300

In Loudon New Hampshire Kenny Irwin 30 died in a crash at the NH International Speedway two days earlier. Tony Stewart won the New England 300 after a rain shortened finish leading 156 of 273 laps and dedicating the victory to Irwin. Mark Martin placed third and spoke of the crash sight and Irwin’s memory. Stewart and Irwin were longtime rivals who grew to mutual respect during their open wheel to Cup careers.

Tear Gas Disrupts World Cup Qualifier in Harare
