Finney proposes low interest loans to Kansas farmers
State Treasurer Joan Finney unveiled a pilot plan to loan 15 million dollars of idle state funds to Kansas banks at 7.99 percent, enabling lenders to charge farmers up to 10.49 percent for operating costs. Eligible farmers must have 70 percent farming income and 25 percent of costs in interest.
