Volunteers Illuminate Topeka Nonprofits Through Faith Links
In Topeka area, many nonprofits rely on volunteers from local congregations. Breakthrough House at 1201 S.W. Van Buren has about five core volunteers, with more needed as activities rise. The center serves 40 members and about 200 yearly visitors, offering computer help, meals, job aid, laundry, showers, transportation, and a thrift store. Volunteers from Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene and other faith groups contribute meals and clothing donations, reinforcing church missions and community care.
