Anderson County Recycle Site Set for Saturday at Fairgrounds
The Anderson County recycling collection site will operate Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Anderson County Fair grounds. Residents may bring aluminum cans newspapers recyclable plastic milk jugs pop bottles and certain plastic containers magazines glass food containers and tin cans. Caps must be removed and containers cleaned before accepted. Excellence Landscaping and Irrigation opens in a temporary location with Brent and Rhonda Holsinger as new owners offering landscaping irrigation design and installation services for homes and businesses in Coffey Anderson Linn and Allen counties. They plan a greenhouse and bulk mulch plant material service. A St Joseph man suffered minor injuries from a July 3 truck crash near Gannett when a semi loaded with bottled bleach overturned after the driver fell asleep. Soybean prices rose with corn and wheat also moving. The 11 member Hospital Closure Commission elected Bob Creighton of Atwood as chairman and Ed Reitz of Pittsburg as vice chairman and hired Gary Stotts as executive director. Stotts, 55, will lead commission activities and be paid 5000 dollars monthly until December 1 when a report is due to Governor Graves.

County plans grant to add deputies and day care funds
The county commission discussed a grant proposal to cover costs for adding two or three deputies over three years. Dan Andrews of COF Services outlined a year ahead budget including a day care program linked with Franklin County Day Care. The commission will consider a $101,325 budget, same as last year, plus terms for a lease with physician Takeshi Seto amended for a three year buyout. Ray DeJulio sought approval to hire a temporary summer mower.
