Bennington man turns encyclopedic knowledge into books
Rod Beemer a 69 year old Bennington resident and avid reader has used his decades of study to publish works from short stories to tractor histories and a planned epic on General George Armstrong Custer. He researched Custers 1869 prairie campaign by retracing his route from Fort Sill to the Texas Panhandle and spoke at the Little Big Horn Associates conference in Oklahoma City about chasing Custer. Beemer credits his mother for anticapitalizing his encyclopedia purchase and says he enjoys historical nonfiction the most.
