NY sniper case yields thin facts and blurred portrait

A blurred Central Park sniper portrait emerges as prosecutors seek motive. The shooter, a quiet man with a quick temper, used a 45 caliber revolver owned by Kiril Dimitroz of New Jersey to kill a woman and wound three others in a Wednesday spree. Police link the weapon to An gelo Angelof, a Bulgarian national, with ties to Kyril Dikov. Dikov, in Queens hospital after an industrial accident, and Angelos reportedly knew each other through shared circles in New Jersey and New York. Angelos, traveling on a Greek passport since 1966, recently worked as a book distributor in Queens before quitting last Tuesday. The gunman killed Lilah Kistler, 24, in a Central Park restroom, then wounded 80-year-old Charles Bach during a later shootout with officers.
