Legion A-Team Sweep Heads Winning Weekend

Ottawa's American Legion A-team sliced two wins and one loss in a weekend sweep over Rosedale in a 13 inning nightcap and a late rally against Clathe. Dave Beets starred with five hits and six RBIs across three games, while Dave Baldwin drove in the decisive runs including a 13th inning score. Beets earned a 4-hitter in game one, and James Bien fired a one-hit relief 13th to seal the nightcap win as Ottawa improved to 9-16 on the season at Orlis Cox Field.

Kansas State Bank women’s softball crushed Williamsburg 20 to 4 in an errorless, hot hitting display. Janis McMillen earned the win with two strikeouts as Kathy Hughes Sharon England McMillen and Adelaid Eubank powered Ottawa with four homers. Williamsburg’s Bitts took the loss.
