Billy Williams Twofists Softly Behind Banks Iron Manof Cubs
Cubs star Billy Williams, like Lou Gehrig before him, has spent his career in the shadow of a centerpiece player Ernie Banks. Williams recently extended his consecutive games streak and set a National League record, while maintaining a quiet, hardworking role. He credits Banks for help and notes his own drive to uplift others through a scholarship fund. Williams, nicknamed Sweet-Swinging Billy, typically posts strong averages and solid power, and spoke of humility and gratitude before a large Wrigley crowd.
