A 17 member committee will search for a new University of Kansas chancellor after Gene Budig leaves this summer to head professional baseballs American League. Community raises funds for Melvern teen Burnett recovery
Melvern residents plan a July 16 fund raiser for 18 year old Adam Burnett and family after a May diving accident left him a quadriplegic. He is at St Francis Hospital Topeka and may move to the Craig Institute Denver for 3 to 4 months of rehab funded largely by the Jones Foundation. Events include softball, a food sale, car wash, talent show, carnival games and a Mexican dinner with an auction. The Steve Palermo Foundation will offer support and contacts.
