Court refuses to restrict predator law in Kansas high court ruling

The Kansas Supreme Court unanimously up held the U S Supreme Court decision on the Sexually Violent Predator Act allowing civil commitment of predators after prison terms. The rulings cover Kenneth M Hay and John R Miller whose appeals questioned the law and admissibility of psychiatric records. The court kept intact the mechanism for indefinite custody for treatment, with 15 men designated as predators to date.
