Weekend Market Report Shows Gasoline Rally Amid Mixed Signals
Gasoline futures rose on the New York Mercantile Exchange with February unleaded up 1.52 cents to 62.12 cents a gallon as crude, heating oil, and pork-belly futures moved irregularly. The rise followed fears of February supply squeezes and despite a large UPI gasoline inventory rise and an eight day Brazilian oil workers strike. A separate stock and bond markets roundup noted a slight Dow drop and a 0.5 percent GNP gain in Q4, with durable goods orders up 2.5 percent in December.
