Ottawa Braves climb to No 3 in NAIA volleyball poll
Ottawa University men’s volleyball surges to No 3 in the NAIA Coaches Top 10 after starting 3-0 and defeating defending champion Missouri Baptist on Jan 17. Luke Pope earned NAIA setter of the week with 113 assists, 11 digs and seven blocks while Daniel Jacobs previously won national attacker of the week. The Braves head to Park University’s Pirate Invitational in Parkville Missouri with a Friday noon match against Missouri Valley College.

Topeka Players Join OU Men's Soccer Signings
The Ottawa University men’s soccer program signs Ethan Cowen and Nathaniel Sapata, both of Topeka, for the 2017 season. Cowen comes from Seaman High School with multiple all-city honors in soccer and bowling, while Sapata from Washburn Rural High School helped Junior Blues to two Kansas State Tournament runner-up finishes and a 2016 final four. Sapata earned 2015 honorable mention all-city and volunteers with Top Soccer. Cowen is aiming for an engineering major. Carl Bouldra, cousin of Sapata, played football at Ottawa University in 1989.
