Winners honored for conservation at Franklin County awards
Farmers and families from Williamsburg and Ottawa receive 2004 Bankers Conservation Awards and Grassland Award for long term soil water and wildlife stewardship. Jack Beauchamp and John Wray lead efforts with native grasses and no-till practices while Brenda Fredricks family adapts to evolving soil health methods. The 64th annual meeting at Celebration Hall will salute their commitment.

The 64th annual Franklin County Conservation District meeting will be at 6 30 p m Thursday in Celebration Hall Franklin County Fair Winners of the 2004 Bankers Awards include Chester and Sheryl Fredricks and Chester Jr and Brenda Fredricks Williamsburg Jim and Donna Ferguson Ottawa Jack and Louise Wray and John and Brenda Wray Ottawa. Jack and Lyndell Wray receive the Grassland award. The winners have shown continued adoption of good conservation practices, said Keri Harris district manager. Conservation practices save top soil and help create cleaner water and air.
