Vatican roots remain firm against ordaining women priests
In Vatican City AP report, Cardinal Ratzinger and Bishop Scola reaffirm the Catholic Church will not ordain women. The book from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith compiles key doctrine and essays backing the stance, noting Jesus chose only male apostles and the priesthood’s 2000 year male link. John Paul II warns divorced Catholics remain in the church, urging counseling for troubled marriages.
