Old Milwaukee officer retires after 60 years on force
Lt. Andrew Anewenter, 86, one of the nation’s oldest active police officers, retires on March 14 after 60 years with Milwaukee Police. Since 1942 he has investigated murders, thefts, drugs and counterfeiting, and even guarded Elvis Presley. President Bush congratulated him last May during a Milwaukee visit.
