Dunbars build own water system to cut costs and protect future
The Dunbar farm, primarily cattle with corn soybeans and wheat, started researching a private water system in 2005 and implemented it between 2007 and 2008 after inheriting a water tower. They cleaned ponds, fenced them, and installed multiple feeding pasture stations with lines to a central tower for stored water. Aaron Dunbar, the fourth generation, stresses keeping the environment intact for future generations and notes water is Kansas's most valuable resource highlighted by Gov. Brownback.
