The U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission ordered staff to review past and pending nuclear licenses for reliance on the Rasmussen Report and decide if regulatory changes are needed. Tractorcade Rumbles Through Kansas City to Washington
A long, slow moving convoy of tractors and farm vehicles rolled through Kansas City during rush hour en route to Washington to press for 100 percent parity. The group stretched over 10 miles, with police escort, as Kansas officials allowed use of Interstate 70 while Missouri barred slow-moving tractors. Kansas lawmakers urged Missouri to permit the through route, citing safety and travel on U S 50. Local participants included Butch Neel and Gary Wokaty, who stressed the need for farm relief and parity.
