Franklin Savings elects new directors to board
Three new directors joined the Franklin Savings Association board at the annual meeting. Ransom Bennett Jr. was elected to fill his late father F Ransom Bennett's vacancy, joining James Asher and Winton A Winter. Winter was elected board president, with Wallace as executive vice president and Gilmore as vice president and secretary. The meeting also discussed buying the old Peoples National Bank building subject to Federal Home Loan Bank approval. The association reported growth from 22.325 to 26.598 million in assets, 19.5 to 21.9 million in savings, and more than 7 million in loan commitments, plus 1.1 million in interest paid on savings.
