Dismissals and Arrests Across Ottawa Area

Friday to Sunday police reports list dismissals for Kirk McFadden and Janae McNally, plus arrests in Ottawa and surrounding towns. Suspects include Joshua Hoyt of Topeka on driving while revoked charges, James Hogan with methamphetamine and paraphernalia warrants, Mikael Englund on failure to appear, Cody Thompson on paraphernalia, Jeremiah Owens on multiple meth and paraphernalia charges, Pedro Neave on driving while revoked, Isaac Munchenke and Robin Heenan on drug paraphernalia and meth, and a 17-year-old Wellsville suspect for marijuana and paraphernalia with a 16-year-old Ottawa boy released to parents. Also reported are a 14-year-old Rantoul girl curfew issue and other traffic stop notices at South Main Street and McDonalds.

Ottawa suspects and crashes fill weekend Daily Report

Daily Report lists multiple incidents in Ottawa and nearby areas. Suspects include Ward 31 on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and leaving the scene, Alyssa Taylor 21 on drug possession charges, a 34-year-old Ottawa woman for domestic battery, and Brenda Smith 50 in an Ohio deer crash. A 31-year-old Franklin County resident reports identity theft thefts. A 24-year-old Ottawa man, Justin Evans, is involved in a separate accident with Drew Wiard 31, who faces DUI charges.

Wellsville Police Log Highlights Friday and Sunday

Wellsville officers logged multiple calls Friday including follow up in the 32000 block of West 327th Street, a medical call on East Third Street, a public assist on Hunt Avenue, and a report of suspicious activity on East Eighth Street. Sunday reports note a juvenile matter on West Second Street.

Ottawa University graduate joins Herald as customer service specialist

Jon Vaughn of Garnett recently joined The Herald's graphics and advertising departments as a customer service specialist. He earned a BA in sports administration with a marketing minor from Ottawa University in December and contributed to campus life as a cheerleader, Campus Ministries member, Student Senate, and theater participant. Vaughn enjoys gaming, movies, swimming, Pizza Time pizza, and Coca Cola and hopes to adopt a sea turtle soon. He is excited to gain new experiences in his role.

New Ottawa Chamber picks Sandy Sample as membership director

The Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce announces Sandy Sample's new role as membership director at its 2015 annual banquet. John Coen says she will build and maintain memberships and seek sponsors. Coen notes 310 members paid dues as of December, and Sample and her husband once owned Front Row Sports before selling in fall 2015.
