Nagasaki mayor Hitoshi Motoshima, 67, was shot outside City Hall and taken to Nagasaki Public Hospital. NHK reported a bullet pierced his left lung but he remained not in serious condition. Police arrested Kazumi Tajiri, 40, of Tokyo, claiming leadership of a rightist group Sane Thinkers' School.
